Innovator, medical doctor, physicist and academician, Dr. Abreu, of both Harvard Medical School and Yale University, is board certified in Anesthesiology as well as Ophthalmology. At Yale, he recently served as clinical faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and was a post-doctoral fellow and faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
Professional Accomplishments and Achievements:
While at Yale, he discovered the brain thermal tunnel, which for the first time in history enabled non-invasive, continuous measurement of human brain temperature. Dr. Abreu is one of the world’s foremost experts on body thermal energy, having studied brain thermodynamics for two decades and inventing technologies that resulted in dozens of patents. He developed the BTT™ Abreu 700 system, an FDA-cleared, computer-based device with a micro sensor that measures brain temperature. The BTT™ Abreu 700 provides the most accurate and true brain temperature without corrective factors found in all other digital and infrared thermometer. Brain Tunnelgenix Technologies Corp.™, a MedTech company, utilizes advanced sensors, software, and artificial intelligence that uniquely captures brain thermodynamic signatures.
While at Harvard University, at the behest of the US Government’s Department of Defense, AirForce division, he developed an advanced cold laser system; patented an Opto-electromagnetic tonometric system licensed to Nestlé’s pharmaceutical unit, Alcon Laboratories; at Abreu discovered the Radiation Signature of Glucose within the mid-infrared wavelength irradiated as thermal energy from the body. Dr. Abreu also developed the first FDA-cleared computer system for continuous temperature measurement during surgery, intensive care, and general patient monitoring in association with ASUS Corporation.
